We track students' BMI data on a monthly basis to evaluate the effectiveness of our meal program. Generally, our students are of a healthy weight and new kindergarten students quickly gain weight at JPA. We have noticed that some students’ weight decreases slightly during school holidays showing that three healthy meals during school make a big difference.
This chart shows how JPA students steadily grow due to eating healthily at
school. Data represented here shows average BMI for all grades for school year
2009-2010.

The attendance rate at JPA is very high. For the year 2008-2009, attendance exceeded 99%.
Some of our students and their parents travel considerable distances by foot, bicycle and boat. This shows a real commitment to education by students
and their families.
Scholastic Reading Inventory is the only school-based assessment reading program that directly reports students' reading levels using the native lexile item format.
At JPA, using the Scholastic Reading Inventory assessment instrument allows us to quickly and effectively assess reading comprehension and choose the correct books for our students. Teachers are also able to use this assessment data to formatively develop their instruction methodology.
Here is an example of how Grade Five has improved their SRI scores over three years.
